I regret that I had to cancel my next two books, KATHRYN and ARES. Eleven days ago I had the sort of call a person never wants to get. My sister-in-law called to tell me that my mom had gone to the emergency room after her recent surgery and was immediately sent to the hospital where doctors discovered she had internal bleeding.
Anyhow, my husband and I were pretty much packed and out the door within 3 hours of the call and flew across country on the first available flight. Because we live in the middle of nowhere it was a bit of a marathon.
I’m still not back home, but I wanted to post an update as I’ve received more than a few emails (some a bit irate) about the cancellations. I HATE to cancel books, I really, really do. But there is no way I could complete my last pass on KATHRYN and I suspect I won’t be in the right headspace to dig into ARES for a while, either.
Amazon will only let an author push a book 2 times before they take away her pre-order privilege so right now I can’t put either book back up for order, which is why they aren’t visible online. As soon as I figure out what my schedule looks like I will publish the date for my next book here on my blog and I’ll also send out a newsletter.
Sorry for the brief and rather garbled update, but–quite frankly–I’m exhausted right now but just wanted to let everyone know the books are only temporarily missing from Amazon.

Thank you for sharing that, I was going crazy trying to figure out why they had disappeared. Family always comes first, so please focus on that.
Was eagerly waiting for these books and was wondering if they weren’t being released on amazon.in. Finally checked here.
Wishing your mother a speedy recovery and good health!
Best wishes to you!
Thanks for the information. I hope your mother is improving.
Surprised to hear that, “Amazon will only let an author push a book 2 times.” I’ve seen book release dates slipped over and over ad nauseam on Amazon. Perhaps the rules are different for major or indie publishers and self-publishers? Anyway, thanks for that update, most helpful.
I’m so sorry for what you are going through. Please take all the time you need; family will always come first.
We will wait. We miss your books for sure!
Ms. Spencer, I am so sorry to hear what your mother and your family are going through. I wish y’all the best in this trying time.
So sorry to hear about your mom but right now she is who you need to focus on because she is most important. I am so glad you updated us on the situation so I can stop looking. Take care of yourself and your mom and we will see you when we see you, again thanks for the update.
Hi Frances: Thanks so much for your thoughtful message. I’m sorry I’m just responding now, but I only discovered these comments. Anyhow, my mom is doing a lot better.
Ms.Spencer,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I love your books but can wait for more as you deal with what is most important, your family!
Thanks for giving me so much joy
Pam Spencer
A fellow Spencer! Thank you so much for your thoughtful message. I’m so sorry I didn’t respond earlier but I thought my website passed comments along to me. Live and learn. My mom is doing heaps better and it was good to see her, even if the reason wasn’t great.
Sending so much love! We are clearly very excited about your books and huge supporters, and we will definitely still be excited after everything is sorted. Hang in there – family is the most important!
Thanks so much for your kind wishes! Sorry about the delay in responding. My mom is doing well and I’m really glad I was there for her.
Thinking of you during your worries. Hope they find out the problem soon.
Thank you Margaret! Just found all these messages (I continue to be technically incompetent, lol) My mom is doing a lot better.
I’m sorry your mother is ill. I hope you and your family are holding up ok. God bless your family and your mother🙏🏻
Thank you! Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I didn’t receive my comments from my website. My mom is doing well, but she sure did scare us!
