Surprise, surprise!

********************************************GIVEAWAY CLOSED*********************************************************

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY WINNERS, KAYLEE, MARY, & KARIN!!

*************************************************************************************************************************

Hi there! Look at YOU checking out my blog today🎉

Did you come here via my newsletter? Or were you just wandering around the internet and stumbled upon my website?

Either way, I am going to have a little celebration giveaway to welcome people to my revivified blog.

I am sorry this is a US only thing, but shipping has become outrageous. I promise I will have international giveaways on occasion, too.

I had so much fun at Christmas sending out book gifts (see photo below of my bookish swag) that I am going to do it again.

I will choose 3 people who comment to receive a surprise bookish package. It will look the photo I posted below and include a book and some pretty swag.

I’ll close the giveaway on Saturday, February 15th and contact the 3 winners to get their mailing addresses.

Thanks for checking out my blog, I am excited to be posting again and hope you will follow along, whether you are a lucky winner, or not.

Happy reading!

P.S.

If you want to grab a copy of THE ETIQUETTE OF LOVE while it is still on the lower pre order price, here is a link:

PREORDER LINK!

Lady Winifred, the young Dowager Countess of Sedgewick, has already had one husband.

She doesn’t want another.

And if Freddie ever did change her mind on the matter, she most certainly would not marry a ruthless, dominating, and heartless block of ice like the Duke of Plimpton.

The Duke of Plimpton has already had one wife who did not love, or even like, him.

Unfortunately, it seems he will have to take another.

After conducting a dispassionate, meticulous, and thorough examination of the pool of possible duchesses, there is only one real candidate for Plimpton, and that is Lady Winifred Sedgewick.

The fact that she loathes and despises him is irrelevant.

When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object either one of them has to give or they both risk their own destruction.

Or is there a third option?

This is the super steamy, enemies-to-lovers conclusion of THE ACADEMY OF LOVE series. Pre-order your copy today!

  1. I completely understand wanting to back off of social media – the doomscrolling has been getting to me too. I’m excited that you are going to be writing in your blog, and I plan on keeping up with it. Your books bring me lots of joy, so thank you!

    1. Thank you! I had to laugh…while I was typing this response an AI promt came up and said, “Let me write for you!” lol. It is truly insideous.
I’m glad you enjoy my books. I plan to keep ’em coming!

    1. I’m delighted to know you’ll be following along! That will encourage me to be a regular poster. It is actually fun to share progress reports who people who actually want to know about my books. Thank you!

  2. I am looking forward to getting that 7th book in Etiquette of Love series. And I agree that FB and IG are getting disgusting. I am on FB only to visit my favorite quilt store because she does free demos and entertaining live auctions each week. So I shall check out your blog, but I don’t anticipate something new every day, so no pressure.

    1. One of the things I didn’t take into consideration when I cancelled IG was that so many people who offer services (illustrators, for example) only do business on those platforms. Since I no longer have an account, I can’t access these businesses. Sigh. I suspect I will give in and just get one so I can access those sorts of folks. Anyhow, thanks for your comment! And I am looking forward to getting book 7th off my laptop and into the world!

  3. I’m so excited to discover your blog from your news letter! I completely understand social media being way too much right now and I’m glad you have a space to be social and skip all of the gross stuff. I just love all of your books, they’re some of my favorites!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! Already this sort of engagement is heaps and heaps better than months on FB. So…thank you!

  4. Darn!!! I missed out on the Christmas bookish gifts!!
A Very Bellamy Christmas was hilarious!
Looking forward to more of your books to read and I’m able to keep in touch through your email and blog.
I’ve already pre-ordered The Etiquette of Love. ❤️

    1. Hi Margaret,
I will definitely be doing more of the bookish gifts. Wrapping the books and crafting bookmarks, etc., is very theraputic. And it also gives me an excuse to keep buying beads, lol. Thanks for preordering! I sure hope you enjoy it.

  5. Hello, just a word of encouragement as you navigate your way through figuring out how to do genuine engagement. It can’t be easy for an author who of course wants to get their books to as large and as appreciative audience as possible. I got here via the newsletter and would lots rather hear from you this way. I have left social media for much the same reasons you did. Best wishes always.

    1. Thank you for the encouragement! It is much appreciated. I love hearing you found me by my newsletter. Before i received my first book contract I didn’t have any social media accounts at all. One of the requirements from the publisher was to sign up for at least 2. This was back in 2017. At the time I belonged to a group of new authors called Authors18 and we all scrambled to “collect” as many followers as possible to impress our publishers. Since that time I’ve learned that actual building of an author presence takes a lot of time. It’s better to get one real newsletter subscriber, who enjoys my writing, than to get 100 sign ups from people who are interested in a free Kindle (that’s the click bait for “newsletter builders”) Anyhow, thanks for your comment; this was exactly the sort of conversation I was hoping to spur!

  6. I loved your comments about AI. From what I hear, now you can get it to not only write for you, but speak for you! So what are we even doing here, people?
I have been reading the Academy of Love books out of order, so right now I went back to the 1st one, The Music of Love. I’m in the angsty part right now!

    1. Hi Karin,
Argh. AI. You pretty much nail it: what are people for at this point? I seriously don’t get the attraction to computer generated books, art, and–yes, I just read a story in the NYT about a married woman who has fallen in love with her chatbot and is carrying on an “affair”. I enjoy escapism as much as anyone, but I feel like we are headed in a bad direction. I am interested to hear you are reading the books out of order. I have been doing that, myself. Because it is 5 years since MOL I have forgotten tons of details. As I wrote EOL (like my initialisms? lol) I have read through parts of all 6 prior books and I think they do pretty well as stand-alones. Here is one BIG thing I have learned in the years since I started: don’t write too much about characters who don’t yet have a book!! DAMN I have written myself into corner after corner with this series. Live and learn, for sure.
Hang in there through the angst! FYI, EOL is much less angsty, not intentionally, it just seems to be the way the last 3 books have turned out. Happy reading!

  7. Like everyone else, I arrived at your blog via your newsletter, and I also limit my use of social media. I still have accounts on FB and IG but I check them once every two months or so. If I could limit posts in my feed to only people I actually know…
I also enjoy your books immensely! I’m a series lover, it’s always great to see what happens later to people I feel in love with in earlier books.

    1. Thank you so much, Susan! I had fun adding one unexpected character to this last book, so I hope you enjoy the surprise!

  8. Yes. I popped over here through the link in your newsletter. I’m sure it will be less stressful to post things on a blog that you have more control over. I’m only on Facebook, and it does get crazy sometimes. Thank you for the chance to win!

    1. Hi Mary,
Thanks for reaching out. It’s great to know my newsletter has uses other than sales, lol. Happy reading!

  9. I’m excited for your upcoming releases! I check here periodically for updates and to see if any more tidbits of upcoming stories have been released. I would love little progress reports, and to be able to read some of your books for the first time again! Love your stories.

  10. I popped over here from your newsletter too. I used to spend a lot of time on social media but the last couple of years especially have completely soured me on it. I look forward to reading your blogging. It is more personal and more meaningful, at least to me.

  11. I’m very happy to be a winner, thank you!
About reading the books out of order-sometimes I read series out of order, because I see one with a favorite trope, other times because I picked it up on sale.

    1. You are welcome! I have to confess that I have, on occasion, read books out of order. I, too, tend to dislike certain tropes–hidden baby, second chance, and amnesia (even though I HAVE written books in all three, myself, lol).
